比丘們，三事和合，才有入胎。父母結合、母親在受孕期、「將生者」（gandhabba）在場：三者齊，就是結胎；缺一不成。
Mendicants, when three things come together an embryo is conceived. … But when these three things come together—the mother and father come together, the mother is in the fertile phase of her menstrual cycle, and the virile spirit is ready—an embryo is conceived.白話這一段講結胎要三個條件同時成立；它沒有提到週數，也沒有說這一刻對到受精、著床或哪一個生理事件。
